Barbie in the Pink Shoes is the 24th animated film featuring the adventures of the world's most popular doll, and like previous releases, is aimed at a pre-school/kindergarten audience (ages 3-5). Aspiring young ballerinas, in particular, will find the film to their liking with its thrilling music and abundance of dance scenes.
Kristyn Farraday lives to dance, and her days are spent practicing her latest moves. Things change however when she's given a new pair of pink ballet shoes by Madame Katerina, a designer/seamstress for Madame Natasha's ballet company. Upon donning the shoes, Krystyn is transported to a magical ballet world where she finds herself dancing brilliantly in such legendary productions as "Giselle" and "Swan Lake."
Wonderfully animated and choreographed, Barbie in the Pink Shoes imparts valuable lessons for younger viewers, primarily the importance of having dreams and following up on them regardless of the obstacles and negativity of others.
